15 year old with test anxiety only. Can perform fine in school until testing time. Seems to go blank with a big test in front of her. Has no ADHD and no other problems. Any answers for this teenager?
I, too had test anxiety, so I know what it feels like. I'd advise that you NOT medicate your daughter, sorry but I'm assuming tis your daughter.
Perhaps if she studies very hard, you can fire off test-type questions, at home, and see how she does? It may help her a wee bit.
The reason I suggest this is that once a person, especially a teenager is medicated, it may be hard for her to get off the medication hence creating a vicious cycle, where would it end? You may want to get just a bit of counseling for this anxiety that she suffers, instead of medication, just an idea.
I could be so very wrong in this area, this is just my opinion and I'd wager that others will add their opinions on this query, so do hold on for more answers.
I wish you and your teen all the best and NO text anxiety!
