First of all, when feeling my elbow normally, I am able to feel the ulnar never and can move it left or right freely. It moves back to proper place when arm is straight.

Second, I like sleeping facing downward, with my arms folded underneath my pillow.

The situation: When arms are under my pillow the ulnar nerve seems to be pinned between the bed and the epicondyle. When the arm is bent like this the ulnar nerve does not move as freely. This is uncomfortable and causes numb arms.

Question: In the way that I can move the nerve left/right across the epicondyle, is it better to move it to the inward side (toward thumb) or outward side (toward pinky) to prevent numb arms?
