I just started using the Nuvaring. I'm a flight attendant, and it was towards the middle of week 2 on the ring when I left for a work trip and forgot to take my new ring with me. It was a series of trips, and I didn't come home until week 4. I had started bleeding, full period, and replaced the ring immediately when I returned home. I was aiming for the continual method. 1 week later, and I'm STILL bleeding. I'm visiting my long distance bf tomorrow, and don't want a period the whole visit! Is this normal? Can I expect this to stop any time soon? Is there anything I can do?
When you are late changing it your body responds like it does naturally and starts you bleeding. Once it starts you It should stop once the rings been in for a while. Don't forget you're changing the whole cycle. count the day you put it in as day one of new use. Your are starting over. The ring stays in for the next 21 days, then you have your break period. Unless you are doing the ring in for 4 weeks and just change it. That is just fine, Your body just has to get over the miss. Maybe you should keep one in your handbag. There is no way to tell you if it will stop soon. When you first start on it and have a miss like that, your body is going to respond more because the ring hasn't had chance to get used to the ring, then its gone. The dr can't do anything and he isn't needed unless you are hemorrhaging. That is having to change tampon or pad every 2 hrs.

I skipped my last period with NuvaRing by inserting a new ring last Sunday instead of leaving it out
