I recently tried to refill my Prodrin prescription, and was told by the pharmacist that Prodrin is no longer available. please tell me that this is not true!
Hello, I have not been able to find any info as to Prodrin being discontinued.
Perhaps your pharmacist meant that pharmacy no longer carries this medication?
However, something of interest I found was actually on the official Prodrin website (prodrinrx.com); there is a section on their page devoted to the patent of Prodrin. Please check it out, it may help begin to explain something for you or point you in a direction so you can look into it further. I also found this info on a migraine blog page:
"Prodrin is manufactured by Gentex Pharma, LLC. It containes isometheptene mucate, acetaminophen, and caffeine. It does not contain
dichloralphenazine. If you and your doctor decide Prodrin would be a good option for you, you can tell your pharmacist that it's made by Gentex Pharma, LLC, out of Jackson, Mississippi. That should help your pharmacist find a distributor."
I think your best bet is to talk directly with Gentex Pharma (I'm sure their number /e-mail is listed on their site or elsewhere on the net, shouldn't be hard to get if you Google the company, etc.).
Best of luck to you!
