I have alot of adhesions from several stomach surgery's, the last time i had a colonoscopy, the Dr. couldnt go through my whole bowel because of them. Has anyone had the "camera pill" that you swallow, I am wondering if that or a MRI would be an option to see beyond where he can see. i know that he will suggest a lower GI and i hate that test. Thanks!
Lots of things can goof up a lower GI. Later I had an emergency MRI. It showed my 3 diverticulitis that they couldn't see with the colonoscopy. The difference is that with a colonoscopy they can take tissue samples for biopsies
My doctor put me on a new med about 2 months before the GI exam, and it made my stomach all weird. I had layers of fecal matter in my lining, and I was passing mucous from my stomach lining big time. The mucous scared them. Normally I have 1-3 BMs a day, so I was worried about my stomach coming out on them during the preparation. It was pretty nice-it showed my kidneys, spleens-yes i have 2, liver, heart, etc. There is preparation for a stomach exam, but you aren't falling asleep, and feeling sick for the rest of the day. I much prefer being awake-that's the way I used to have them.
