Is prilesec a h-2 blocker like pepcid is?

No, Prilosec works in a different way to Pepcid but they both reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Prilosec is more potent than Pepcid.
Pepcid (famotidine) is in a group of drugs called histamine-2 blockers. Famotidine works by decreasing the amount of acid the stomach produces.
Prilosec (omeprazole) belongs to group of drugs called proton pump inhibitors. It decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach.
