... Within 2 weeks I had lost 75% of my cardio capacity with sever burning pain on exertion. Since then a number of treatments (prednisone, asthma inhalers, antibiotics, etc.) have had varying degrees of effect, but never back to even 50%. xrays, CT show nothing... no discernible sound when dr listens. I'm interested in anyone else who as had similar issues. There is no other potential cause... devastating condition. middle aged fit male... thanks

I received the vaccine at the age of 50 (last month). I previously have had 2 other pneumonia shots several years ago w2ith no issues. My allergist/immunologist felt providing me with this vaccine would boost my very we ask immune system. I constantly have sinus infections.
I believe you have not gotten responses because people are unclear why you have gotten prevnar as an adult when it is given to babies/toddlers. Perhaps you could expand your question some so that persons on this site have a better idea as to the purpose of the medication. Hope you have had some relief.
I am so sorry this has happened to you. So many of us on this site can identify with you. I have found that medical advice does not meet our needs. It is devastating when you are a very active, energetic person to go to a person with fibro. I can only say that as hard as it is, keep trying to be active. You may not be the person you were, but you WILL be a person who keeps trying. I ended up with similar symptoms as you, only 10 yrs ago. Letting go of the person I was, was SO hard. Since then, I've had a bout of cancer and other difficult diagnosis, but "keep on trucking" which is so hard. Today I went bowling and didn't score well. But two weeks ago I scored 160. Not bad for a woman over 55. Please , please don't get too discouraged. You are so with a lot. Know there are so many people, even on this site, who encourage you and wish you well. Live on.
