I have been taking Trazadone 50mg at bedtime for 15 years. I experience Migraines when I do not get at least 7 hours of sleep. If I know I will not get 7 hours of sleep I do not take my Trazadone that night. I have never seen this solution printed anywhere. Has anyone else experienced this? I just had a migraine and vomiting this morning after not enough sleep. I went back to bed and slept for a several hours and I feel fine now. This caused me to research this question on the web and I found this group.

When I do not get enough sleep it is because I go to bed too late and have to be up at a certain time which prevents me from getting enough sleep. I never have this problem if I get enough sleep, which is most of the time.
I don't take trazadone but I do get a migraine once every 24 hours. A lot of the time it is in the AM hours. I too am unclear as to your taking and not taking. I am guessing that if you know you will not get 7 hours, you don't take the trazadone and that causes no headache?? There are many kinds of sleep meds that may be better for you.
You are correct, If I DO NOT take Trazadone and get only 3 hours of sleep I Do Not have a Migraine.

If I know I will not be able to sleep fo at least 7 hours I skip that nights dose. If I took the dose and got less than 7 hours of sleep I wake up with a horrible migraine and vomiting. SO I try to prevent the migraine by knowing how many hours of sleep I will get. This has worked for me for many years. I don't do this a lot put maybe once or twice a month.
Hmm yeah I have never seen anything about this, it does seem like it is related though if it happens every time. What happens if you do get at least 7 hours of sleep but don't take the Trazodone, do you still get a migraine? In other words, do you get a migraine every time you don't get at least 7 hours sleep?
If I don't take the Trazadone I have a very sleepless night. I wake up all the time.
I 99 % of the time I get migraines if I don't sleep at least 6 1/2 to 7 hours.
No I never get Migraines If I don't take Trazadone. I don't get Migraines except with Trazadone, and always right when I wake up and have had not enough sleep.
