:-0)--- regards pledge. Have a goodone E. We missed the bullit this time around (huriccane Sandy)... adios my friend!
I agree with the previous answers, & strongly agree with talk therapy to help you resolve your issues. You can take a pill for the anxiety, but until you can talk this out, & figure out how to go on with your life in a calm & fruitful way, you will still be in the same boat once the pill wears off. You may need some medication to help you get through some of the rough spots, but I still believe you need to talk to someone whether it be a psychiatrist or psychologist. The psychiatrist can write scripts, but usually not a psychologist. Wishing you well...
Hello simple girl. I suffered abuse as a child. As a young adult I did a lot of dumb stuff and could be easily frightened by most anything. in college I finally went to see the therapist. They heard my story and said I would have to work at it really hard or all those fears and terrors would be there my whole life. Tap beers were 25 cents and therapists were $60. So i did more dumb stuff. And the nights of tears and shaking wouldn't abate.
I read, I found someone I could afford and got some very good skills I never learned in that crazy family home. Suddenly I was confident, more successful at my work and lots of friends.
Thanks everyone for your help. I will keep you updated
Paxil is used to treat anxiety as well as the underlying depression that triggers the anxiety. It is frequently used for his.
I've been reading a lot of bad reviews on it.. I'm wondering if I should try it or maybe try another doctor?
Hey Simple, I totally understand your situation, as I too have the same problem for the same reasons. You need to talk to psychologist. I feel they are better than psychiatrists, because psychologists are all for the cure, and psychiatrists, although can be good, are all for medication. If the psychologist feels that you should be on medication, they can suggest who you see. Also, mediation is a wonderful tool to use for anxiety. If you don't have the money for a psychologist, (who would love meditation regardless), you can take a community school class on the subject, but it's really easy to learn yourself. There are many places on the internet that give basic instruction, and it is easy, and VERY helpful!!! I have avoided taking a bunch of medication through meditation, it just takes persistence. Best wishes to you!
I agree, & will say it again that she needs to talk to someone about all of this. Abuse is not something a pill is going to cure. It has lasting effects if you don't get it out & talk to someone, a professional at least. Been there done that... Mary
Hasn't everyone in chronic pain? Thanks Mary for explaining better than I did!
hey simplegirl69
I come from a same back ground as you and please just keep in mind to not look for an answer with medication. What you first need to do is talk to a psychiatrist. That relieved me alot that was in my head. Im not against medications because I see they help people but just do not see them as a solution . If you have any questions of other ways just feel free to ask
