Why I am presribed a blood sugar drug a combination of three drugs and some take only metformin?

Most people take more then one medication because they work differently, but they work together to lower to blood sugar. If you reach the top dose of one and still have an elevated blood sugar, then another is added. One thing I know, when it comes to diabetes, you cannot compare yourself to others.
