During a telephone conversation, my GP said that he'd prescribe Trimethoprim; I asked him to fax the prescription to a Pharmacist close to where I work and the GP said that he would, but I was alter told by the Receptionist that this isn't an allowed practice - is that right? Now I have to leave work early and drive to the GP surgery to pick up the prescription, then drive to a pharmacist to fetch the medicine.
