I have bipolar disorder, PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder, and panic attacks, I was recently prescribed Zoloft but one of my fears is meds, what should I expect to feel if I take it? He started me with 25mg since I'm so fearful.
I used to take Zoloft as well. I have serious anxiety issues with certain things. Such as loud noises, people jumping out at me just to scare me for a laugh and my anxiety goes so far as to me thinking about things that could happen when they are unlikely to happen. Anyways, the Zoloft made me more at ease, and it definitely decreased my anxiety. I wasn't so nervous anymore, I communicated with people better, and my nerves weren't jumpy (emotionally speaking) you should simply expect a break from anxiety. I think Zoloft is an amazing medication, and I don't even need it anymore, it helped me to cope with my anxiety because while on Zoloft, I had the freedom of thinking about those horrible things that could have happened that probably never would have, and being able to reflect on those thoughts and sort through where my anxiety was coming from. It helped me to cope with my anxiety by relieving me of it, there for helping me to learn what my triggers are and how to handle them. I hope this helped.
I started off at 25 mg and those gave me horrible headaches and nausea for about 2 weeks. I think I started feeling the effects within 3 to 4 weeks I started feeling less anxious. But it takes time nothing is magic unfortunately :( but just have to tough it out and once you get over that hump, your brain will adjust and you'll start feeling better. Hope you ok. Keep me posted.
