I haven't started as I'm terrified it will make me more anxious... any advice.
Every drug affects people in different ways. I was on 200mg of Zoloft for almost a year, the side effects werent too bad, but I continued to have 2-3 panic attacks a week. Was still unable to go around people (Im the ultimate people person!). I NEED to get my life back so my pys doc put me on Effexor 37.5 mg to start. Its been only 5 days and already I feel much brighter. The fog I had is starting to lift. All Im saying is have an open mind when reading reviews. You have to try and see what works best for you. Also, 25mg of Zoloft is a very low dose, so if you feel no change after two weeks, talk to your doc (pysc not pcp). Good luck.
If you feel more comfortable taking the Zoloft, then it might be worth the try. Just concentrate on one day at a time and see how it is working for you. You can always stop taking it. I have taken both Zoloft and Effexor XR a long time ago (not together) for anxiety/depression. I only remember that neither one increased my anxiety.
I do not remember why I had to switch to something else in both cases. My dr has since determined that I my liver is a "slow metabolizer" so it might have been that. Everyone metabolizes drugs differently. Good luck! Just give yourself credit for taking action to help yourself feel better!!! :)
