... and vicoden. What other pain medicine is this the same as strength wise so I know my restrictions
I'm on 75mg of Nucynta every 4-6 hours. I would say it is about the same strength as Percocet and Vicoden, but will not make you feel the same. You shouldn't feel "high". The feeling I get from it is more of what I describe as a "calm". This is a combination analgesic and opiate (Tapentadol), but is not *supposed* to be as addictive (You may become dependant if you are on it for a long time, like myself). If the 75mg gives you relief you shouldn't need to have an increase in dose for a while. A lot of pain management docs are switching to this medication.
Hi timmeet - It is similar to and has its general potency as somewhere between tramadol and morphine in effectiveness. It has opioid and nonopioid acitivity in a single compound. Okay, so you still have an analgesic and an opioid combination, okay?
As with anything new... try it in the evening or around dinner time so you know how you do following the first dose. Watch out for anything requiring lifting, driving... don't make any big decisions while taking this med until you know how it affects your mental faculties. I always like to take new drugs over the weekend so I have a few days to get used to it but then again, if there is an issue... the doctor's office is closed BUT you can also talk with the pharmacist where you got this filledI think you should be fine. Do this help clarify your concerns or questions? If not, please let me know and I will help you further, okay???
