I had a first inguinal hernia surgery September last year, which was poorly done causing nerve damage and excruciating pain. I had a second surgery last December to fix the problem. I've been prescribed Lyrica but I'm still in pain on and off after the third week of taking 75 mg twice a day.
I've been prescribed Lyrica but I still feel pain after 3 weeks, I'm taking 75 gm twice a day?

The first surgery also compromised my groin area and surrounding muscles in my leg, and all these muscles are so sore that walking is painful. The doctor says I need physiotherapy, but my surgery area still hursts.
Hi Maritza. Please start tapering off this drug! I was on Lyrica for many years and I started on a low dose like you. when I told the doctor it wasn't working he started the process of upping the dosage and I ended up being on 600 mg. a day. It took many years away from me. The side effects are horrible and when you try coming off it you have to taper at no more than 10% daily. Please taper now.
Wow 600mg is a lot !
I was on 75mg 2x/day. I never felt any relief despite all the smiling people on their ads.
Doctors love Lyrica!
They love it because the next step is opioids and that is a dirty word !
They don’t care that every time you visit, pain is the issue and it’s not getting resolved and their not fixing it.
Why not go to your surgeon?
He caused it so he needs to fix it !
The only way we are going to take control of our pain is legally.
The problem is that the people in pain are trying too hard controlling their pain for them to seek medical/financial reimbursement. We need a “healthy” spokesman to stop this nonsense and fight this issue.
Have you tried Gabapentin or Cymbalta (controversial drug)?
I went to a very well known Clinic and was asked by the specialist if the Lyrica prescribed by my Primary worked.
When I told him ...
Not at all, he smiled and said that no one yet has said it did work.
It was reassuring because I felt like everyone thought I was a drug seeker.
If you are trying to get pain treatment you need to search or lose any control you have. ... year after year.
They call it doctor hopping!
It goes against you.
The customer is always right.
YOU are the only one who feels your pain.
I’ve seen a lot of malpractice lawyers who know which doctors will prescribe untreated pain.
You may want to think about it.
I have been on 150mg twice a day for a while now for Fibromyalgia. I was on 225mg twice a day and I did well on it. I did gain weight which I am currently losing. After a while the doc decreased it to 150mg. This past month my fibro has been raging. He increased my Savella last week from 50mg twice a day to 100mg twice a day. If it doesn't help I'll see what he does. There are some of us that have been helped a bit by Lyrica. Without it I don't think I would get out of bed.

How do you properly push an inguinal hernia back into place so I can temporarily wear a hernia belt?
