... the most natural thing in the world so why are psychiatrists claiming it to be a DISORDER.? I think they are the ones who need help if they are trying to turn this into a mental illness requiring drugs!
Yes, most women have PMS and it is normal, but some women have more than just PMS. This is where PMDD comes in. In PMS the symptoms may be troubling and uncomfortable but women with PMS can function fairly normally in their lives. With PMDD, the symptoms can be similar but the difference is that to the sufferer, the symptoms are severe and debilitating and keep her from functioning normally in her life. If you have never had these kind of debilitating symptoms, they are difficult to comprehend and to differentiate from the normal PMS we all have, but to the women that suffer from PMDD the symptoms are so severe they are often bed bound for days each cycle. Only the person who suffers can decide if their symptoms are bad enough to need medication beyond the normal ibuprofen, acetaminophen, Midol or other OTC's most women use. Just because you can't comprehend it doesnt mean it isnt real to those who suffer from it. Say a thankful prayer that you dont have to suffer this way each month!!
I take Lexapro for PMDD and it has made all the difference in the world to me. I have seen you post on here before, stopdruggingkids. It seems to me that you only post to stir up trouble. Your questions and answers are so passive aggresive. You aren't actualy asking a question, you are using this as a personal forum. -Mel
