Im too ashamed to get advice on how to safely wean off of the hydrocodone i take daily (5-7 tablets, at least 2 hours apart) due to my pregnancy. My OBGYN prescribed it to me because i had a wreck, breaking my spine, less than a year ago and the pregnancy has really taken a toll on my back, working is nearly impossible without the pain meds but i have got to wean off for good for the remainder of my pregnancy for the sake of my baby. Please help.
I am pregnant and prescribed 7.5/325 hydrocodone and have been abusing them, please help?

Cmas; you need to just tell your OBGYN and get help to get off of these meds ASAP you get to be in big trouble if your baby is born with an addiction problem this is getting close to tearing up your liver also at this dose. Please get medical help. You well not be the first or the last to have this happen to you.But the most important is your baby. and his or her health. Just fess up to the doctor and have the doctor put you on a tapering dose down where you should be able to get off of them as soon as safely possible. Just keep thinking of what you could be putting the baby thru each time you take this medication. This has to stop now you only have 2 choices is help from your doctor of getting where you put up with some withdrawals and take them only as they are prescribed by the doctor. You can handle this.
i am so so sorry you are going through this, chuck is right. tell the doctor, do not be ashamed, as chuck said this happens to alot of people. i used to abuse codeine it is a very easy hole to fall into.. weaning off with doctor supervision is best, u will have some withdrawal, but its best YOU withdraw before baby is born than watching baby suffer. you can do this, it is worth it. please let us know how you go..
