im taking fioricet as will
It is best to discuss this with your obstetrician and a psychiatrist. Many of the antianxiety meds called benzodiazepines like valium and Xanax are NOT recommended during pregnancy due to possible birth defects. Depending on the severity of the depression and anxiety some of the antidepressants maybe a possibility if the benefits outweigh the risks. Otherwise, talk therapy is your safest bet.
Just want to say that feeling anxious and depressed are quite common in pregnancy because your hormones are literally all over the place due to all the changes in your body. I would suggest only taking safe natural remedies if possible. To help with anxiety cut out tea, coffee and any fizzy drinks. Switch to calming cammomile tea. Have plenty of warm baths with lavender oils and candles!. Try to pamper yourself a little. You are very important and this is a very special time. At night try to drink horlicks to help you sleep and take vitamin B complex for your nerves. I really love babies and just want to wish you all the best!
You can take Buspar for anxiety and slight depression while being pregnant and it will help you. I had to go on something after I got married and I asked for a Classification B pill to help me with my anxiety. This is a pill you can take while pregnant. Start on 7mg or 10mg 2-3 times a day. Ask your doctor and look it up if you want more facts on it. Good luck! Happy thoughts only!! Jennifer
