I have been having recurrent UTIs and I am 13 weeks pregnant otherwise healthy female. Are these drugs safe to take?
Pregnancy Category B: Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.
Cephalexin has also been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA.
I suggest that if you have any questions or doubts you clarify them with your Gynecologist.-
