I had sex with my boyfriend last night and he forgot to pull out so this morning I went to take the plan b pill but we're still nervous and want to know how soon I can take a pregnancy test. I have a lot of abdominal pain is this normal?
Pulling out does NOTHING, absolutely nothing to prevent pregnancy!! It is a wasted gesture because sperm leak out all during the sex act that the male cannot control. Do NOT rely on your partner pulling out before ejaculating as a method of birth control-you WILL wind up pregnant!! Plan b has to be taken within 36 hours of unprotected sex. Abdominal pain, nausea, bloating and breast tenderness are common after taking Plan b. You can also expect your cycles to be screwed up. You may bleed initially (or you may not) and you may not have a normal period for a few months. If you do miss two months periods, you should do a pregnancy test. If it is negative at that time then you are not pregnant, it is just the Plan b messing up your cycle. If you are going to be sexually active, you need to be on reliable birth control. Condoms and spermicidal jelly, inserts or foam are readily available without a prescription. Birth control pills, Nuva ring and other hormonal birth control is available through your Dr or a local family planning clinic along with prescription barrier methods like the diaphragm. Using withdrawal or "pulling out" is like using nothing. It is a wives tale and doesnt work as a birth control method. Plan b is not birth control either. You dont want to be taking it very often so please use a reliable form of birth control!
