So I had unprotective sex saturday morning like around 5ish a.m. after that I took a Plan B Saturday afternoon Nov.28. Well late sunday night early monday probably 1ish a.m. me and my boyfriend had a problem with the condom breaking. Since I was supoose to Ovulate Dec. Do you think the Plan B pill will still prevent a pregnancy?
The Manufacturer of Plan B state that you are not covered for any further episodes of unprotected sex, once you have taken the drug You are only covered for the unprotected sex that led to you taking Plan B, & even then, it depends how quickly you took Plan B, as to how effective it will be.
If taken within 12 hours of unprotected sex, which you say it was, then it is said to be around 95% effective. However, you were very close to ovulation, & as not every woman ovulates on the 14th day of the month, you may have already been ovulating.
Added to that, you have then had a further instance of unprotected sex.
It's not impossible that the drug will work, but these circumstances will not have helped to give you the best chance of preventing pregnancy.
There is no way of knowing whether or not Plan B has worked, until you've missed your period & done a pregnancy test, or until your period comes along. Periods can often be late after using Plan B, even if you get some unplanned bleeding after taking it. If this happens, then you can just do a pregnancy test at the time your period would have been due had you not taken Plan B.
