I am 20 years old and me n my old man talkin about having a baby but I was on the depo shot for 5 mouths n I have been off for 4 I wasn't havein no period at first now my period are irregular iv we have been try but its now workin n it seem like I will never get pregnant
Relax, first of all. I know when you make up your mind to try, you are anxious to have it happen but it can take up to a year to 18 months to get pregnant after using Depo. It is not unusual for women who werent on Depo to take up to a year to get pregnant. Once you are ovulating again (and the time it takes to ovulate regularly again is different for every woman) you have only a 3-4 day window each month where you are fertile. It takes perfect timing for pregnancy to happen. It is always easier, it seems, to get pregnant when you are not trying. Stress can also be a factor in not conceiving and trying to become pregnant can be stressful so breathe, relax and let it happen. It will! If you are not pregnant by a year and a half of trying, you need to then see your gynecologist and possibly a specialist. It can help to learn when you ovulate. Your body gives signals in basal temperatures and cervical mucus as to when ovulation is occurring. You can google what to do to chart ovulation. It can be found under the rhythm method (this is a poor method of birth control because it is not accurate enough for birth control. Some women whose religion forbids artificial birth control do still use this but it is more useful for getting pregnant than not getting pregnant) Once you learn your body's signals for ovulation, you can determine when is the best time for sex. Having sex too often is detrimental because it lowers the mans sperm count. It is better to have sex more frequently during fertile times and not as much during non fertile days so he can build his sperm count again. Your partner should not wear "tighty whities" or any tight underwear or pants. The scrotum needs to hang loose a bit because sperm thrive better a little cooler environment than body temperature. If he is a marijuana smoker, he needs to stop using because marijuana decreases sperm count and you need all the help you can get when you are trying!! Best of luck! I hope you get good news soon!
