How much folic acid a day should a pregnant patient take, if she is on sulfasalacine for CED ?
Are you taking sulfasalazine for Crohns disease? I am not sure what CED stands for.
To reduce your baby's risk of developing a neural tube defect, it is recommended that you take 400 micrograms (mcg) of folic acid per day, beginning at least a month before you start trying to get pregnant.
Your doctor can tell you if you have a greater need than normal of folic acid.
