... am supposed to get my period today I am usually irregular should I take the plan b pill ?
Since you stated you are irregular with your cycle, if you want to protect yourself from an unwanted pregnancy, then YES, get an emergency contraception kit and follow the directions. It does NOT prevent pregnancies after you take it, meaning, don't have unprotected sex again later this week and expect to to work. The reason I state this is young ladies do NOT always understand that it doesn't protect against future unprotected encounters and then subsequently get pregnant because they were unaware it didn't protect for future encounters. These kist are also famous for causing cycle delays so you may not have a cycle, or you could have one and bleed or spot here and there throughout the month, or skip a whole cycle, each lady is different. Men especially young men, leak sperm through the whole encounter and it only takes one, it doesn't matter how deep or how long he had it in, if you don't want to become pregnant, take the emergency kit, but be aware it will not protect in the future from just that one dose and it can mess your cycle up. Please get to a dr or family planning center and have them check you and get you on some regular reliable birth control and have them talk to your partner too, as he seems unaware of sperm leakage throughout the entire encounter. Best of luck, patti
