... taking pain pills Only if I need to take I hate taking Medications period.I take Vicodin if I have to re guarding pains and swelling do to injuries such as Back pains,Toe surgery,etc... plus I also take medications for allergies like nose spray called Flonays and Benadrial and Zerteck,or Claritain and cold/flu pills if nothing works or sometimes Sinus Tylonal. What do I do can any of theese medications hurt my unborn babies in my second trimester?
Have you told the Ob Gyn treating you about all this medication you are taking, or told the prescribing physician of the rx meds that you are pregnant. Most doctors want a new mother to be on as little medication as possible and you should come clean with all doctors about taking the pills and being pregnant. It depends on how often you are taking the Vicodin, but you could be setting the babies up for withdrawal from that, either now, or when they are born, you said you take them only when you need them, how often is that. Flonase has a steroid in it if I am not mistaken, and I am pretty sure unless it was an emergency, the ob gyn would NOT want you taking steroids while pregnant. I realize that you are probably miserable physically, but please let your ob gyn know asap that you feel you need to take these meds. There may be safer alternatives.
This is too complicated for me to answer. I just beg you to Please! Please! Go tell your OB doctor right away that you've been on these meds so that he/she can help you, and your babies. I'm sure nothing is as important to you right now as those precious babies! Tell your doctor about your pain issues - they need to know that as your body will be making the extreme effort soon in carrying 4 babies at the same time. You have less than 20 weeks to get through. - you can do this, even if you are feeling uncomfortable going without the benefits. Take care and let us know how it's going!
Congrats on the babies!!! I am pregnant too and my Ob/Gyn said that Claritin or Zyrtec are just fine. Sudafed in the 2nd trimester is ok as well, although I try not to take the Zyrtec D because it makes me jittery so I just take the little red pills that are every 4-6 hours. The rest I'm not sure about. I stopped taking norco 10/325 on Saturday and my Ob has me taking a very low dose of Ativan for the next 3 days to stop. She assured me my baby is fine and that I have not caused him/her any damage. Good luck and God bless!
