Pregnancy - I am on 50Mg Metropolol twice daily for and increased heart rate and I am now 6 weeks pregnant. Has anyone been on this medication before while pregnant?
Metoprolol has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. This means that animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus but there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans
Some patients may take metoprolol while pregnant if the benefits outweigh the risks. You will need to discuss this with your doctor - there may be a safer medicine for you to take.
