what is opiates. i had perc 10s and vic 7.5 left after my other baby thats what ive been taking i dont go through withdraws or get sick when i dont have any. I was tould if i quit it would kill my baby so i would do alile at a time cuz i was worried so if i dont go through withdraw would my baby
Really depends on what and how much you are taking. If the pain killers are opiates, and you stop, you and the baby will experience withdrawals. It would be best to taper off the pain killers over the next few weeks so you don't experience much in the way of withdrawals and the baby won't have to go through withdrawals when born.
I would discuss this with the obstetrician as you say you can't eat without the pain killers. You'll need to keep up your calories particularly in this last trimester. You may have to drink supplements to insure you get enough nutrition for you and the baby.
Like Laurie said, it depends on how long you have been on them and if you are physically dependent. It is very important too that you see a dentist if your teeth are bad. Proper nutrition is very important in pregnancy. Taking opioid pain meds like Percocet and Vicodin can be bad for your baby too. You may want to taper slowly if you have been on them a long time and taking them regularly.
