This is the information provided by the FDA ... for more information please discuss with your doctor.
Mefenamic acid has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies have shown decreased fertility, delay in parturition, and a decreased rate of survival to weaning at doses 10 times the human dose. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Mefenamic acid is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
Because nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are known to cause premature closure of the ductus arteriosus, use of mefenamic acid during late pregnancy is not recommended.
