i have severe inflamation of my kidneys and i am being treated with prednisolone
Yes. Talk with the doctor who is treating the kidney. This is a temporary diabetes called Medically Induced Diabetes. I have it from my medication and treat it with insulin and diet.
If short term use and you are not already pre-diabetic, you may well be fine. If long term or high dose it should be treated. Around here, people are treated except for short dose packs. It has been found that people heal faster when the blood sugars are even and in control. Please talk further with your doctor. Hope you recover soon.
