What precautions, if any, are needed prior to a root canal?

Bobaleen. It depends upon your health. If you are taking no meds and are healthy, a ride home may be a good idea. It depends upon what they sedate you with.

I suggest you call the dental group and ask them. Be sure you tell them everything you take. If including ibuprofen, aspirin and such, these should be stopped two days prior to the procedure. That is true with anyone.

If you are with some illness, diabetes, etc., then you need to discuss with your primary physician.
