My doctor just got a new medicine approved for the problem I have with seeing people and or objects in my peripheral vision problem. While it shows not to have any interactions except with seroquel ( quetapine ) . I looked at the new drug on DC and it says it is prescribed for blood pressure. Any advice on the drug and its usage for anything else besides high blood pressure? I dont have high blood pressure by the way. god bless and good health... john ps. i forgot she said they are prescribing this for ptsd soldiers she said.
Hello, old friend! Good to see you on the site again. I checked DC to see if any other beta blockers like Prazosin are used for anxiety/stress. The only similar med I found was Tenormin (atenolol). I don't know the chemical mechanism that makes it help for your issue, but perhaps another member will have an answer for you on that. But, apparently, beta blockers are used to treat anxiety/stress. Just be very careful to stand slowly, since you might get light-headed if your BP is lowered. I take a BP med called Bystolic for a cardiac arrhythmia. I don't have high BP either. It lowered my BP by about 5 points, so nothing critical. It will take a few weeks for your body to get used to the med, so it's best that you don't drive until the initial side effects ease off. Take care, John, and feel better soon!
