I've been given Pravastatin 40mg but fall asleep b4 taking it. When I do I get bad heart pain? My last check up my cholesterol was considerably lower. I'm just going to stop taking it. That pain was a horrible feeling like wires snaking my heart. Two days since I've stopped taking it, the pain has gone away. I'm three months away from my next checkup.
Big mistake to stop taking it. Its down because you are taking it. How do you fall asleep before taking it? Take it while you're getting ready for bed, with a full glass of water, and I bet the pain won't happen. If you're taking it when you're laying down and not drinking enough water, you'll have irritation of your esophagus causing the chest pain. If its still causing pain, do not stop taking it, call your dr and have him change the med.
One of the things that statin-the main ingredient is to do heart damage and thin out the heart muscles and cause stomach problems, gas from constipation. My doctor finally shared this with me and they did an MRI on my heart to see if it's damaged. One of the things they say is to eat a little snack just before you take your statin at bedtime. That could be setting up gas, acid reflux, etc. But it might be attacking the heart. Also some people are lucky, and have bad side-effects within a week-they recover quicker. Some take it for over 8 years and end up on kidney transplant lists. Some go into seizures-some get hit in the kidneys- some the legs. I went into it with seizures, and permanently damaged tendons and I had black urine for 3 months. The FDA is in denial about this poison. Another thing I found out is that it usually takes 18 -24 months for a statin to work at all. It's quite possible that an exercise routine-like quitting a desk job and being able to exercise and have fun could be lowering the cholesterol. My lipids-easier to spell were in range. I was poisoned by 7 months- the doctor ran another lipid-Your cholesterol really went down-statin doesn't work that quickly, it takes about 18 months to work. Apparently my lipids went up in winter and pumpkin pie. Then I was tested after a summer of hiking in mountains-eating jerky. It took lots of will power to say to the doctor < I never want to hear the words statin, lipid, or cholesterol from you again. This is putting me in a rage to hear this and i wish that I did have a heart attack and died.> Currently-I have a printout from ama-assn.org/amednews in front of me, telling me another way statin is damaging me by depleting my vitamin D levels, and women are more prone to crippling side effects from statins. I woke up this morning thinking of suicide. I'm not suicidal-but I hate being poisoned -and the FDA keeping on removing or reducing warnings on this poison. There are things as bad as strokes that cause seizures, convulsions, dementia, headaches, dehydration-i had to change my diet because of that, kidney failure, liver damage, eats holes in you muscles-thats what it is when you have random muscle cell die-off-which includes the heart and other organs, bad skin-I don't get zits all of a sudden my skin falls off I guess sort of like an ulcer, mouth sores, balance problems from the brain, balance problems from the end of muscles and tendons being destroyed and twisting (my son caught me yesterday)-I have my feet taped 24/7 to keep from walking on the side of my foot. Back spasms and back pain- People that haven't had any problems don't know how lucky they are-and they are cruel to tell anybody that's worried about statin because they feel funny somewhere in their body-just keep on taking the statin. I've been taking 1,000 units of vitamin D-I guess I should take a lot more--- After I started taking this inferno poison, I'd wake up in the middle of the night-with one thought- "I'm dying." No symptoms- just that thought "I'm dying." Now that I stopped it, I don't have that. So listen to your body- listen to your soul. I wish that somebody had told me about SpaceDoc. I did simvastatin searches, statin searches. I couldn't find anything negative.
