Interactions between your selected drugs

dabigatran ↔ ticagrelor
Applies to: Pradaxa (dabigatran), Brilinta (ticagrelor)
Talk to your doctor before using dabigatran together with ticagrelor. Combining these medications can increase the risk of serious or life-threatening bleeding complications.

They both serve the same purpose so I don't know why you would be prescribed both.

My husband had a STEMI last Christmas Eve with 100% blockage of his LAD. He was previously on Pradaxa for his A-Fib and post stent placement he was started on Brilinta. Is it common to continue on both and also how long Post stent does he continue with Brilinta? Indefinetly? He also had a pacer/ defibrillator implanted 1 month post MI. Thank you
