It is a bit of a problem with winter coming as even going from the house to the car without pain. Any suggestions. I was thinking a ski mask but they are all fleece lined and that material is uncomfortable on my ski

Hi there,
I also have PHN on my face. I don't seem to have acquired the allodynia (pain when you shouldn't have pain -- stimulated by temp. changes/slight breeze/slight touch) but I am sorry that you have it. I would think something like a soft scarf to wrap around your face and easily remove when you go indoors... so people don't think you might be robbing them ;). Also, would you be interested in talking back and forth in a more "support group" way? I'm trying to find other PHN sufferers to talk (or commiserate) with, so that we don't feel like we're the only ones!
I have a friend with this and she puts Vasoline on her face if she goes out for any lenghth of time and it seems to help her out with it, I think it is because it is so thick I am not sure but it seems to work for her and she gets it bad so maybe you could try this. Good luck and hope this suggestion helps you, marjorie zych
thank you so much! That's exactly what I am looking for.
I've been using an herbal agent to help with the neuropathy on my legs: It is Hypericum mixed with petroleum jelly. I got it at a health food store. You just rub it in to the area that gives you problems and there is a noticeable decrease in symptoms. This, along with the petrolueum jelly idea may help your face.
