Low level laser will heal many types of pain. Including PHN. Although the system I use is superior to most others, most of the other systems will significantly reduce the pain with 6 treatments over a 10 day period. Just Google low level laser for a major city near you. My website is paintherapyusa.com. I will specialize in this (among other things)
You posted this quite awhile ago. Are you still suffering? I have suffered every day with PHN since 2014. My shingles started out on one of my butt cheeks. It went "down under" and the pain in that very personal area can be excruciating, let me tell you!
I have always wondered if any other person-man or woman-has had PHN in their personal area, like I have. I do see a pain management doctor. However, there is no protocol for treating shingles with pain medications. I am only allowed Oxycontin for low-level, throughout the day kind of pain and oxycodone for what they call "break through" pain. I only get 20 total mgs. of each a day. And that is after begging for more. If they only knew how much pain I am in or if they could just feel what I feel for only 5 minutes, I guarantee they would help me. I am very regimental about taking my medications. I take them at the same time every day and I don't have the type of personality that would abuse them. All of the hubbub about opioid dependence has made it difficult for those of us who genuinely need relief from extreme pain. I hope you read some of the other responses and that you find something that works for you. I have tried everything on the market but to no avail.
I will always remain open to suggestions though. It's just that that area is a difficult area to treat. You can only put certain things down there because of the sensitivity factor.
