I have noticed a multitude of people who have had many outbreaks of shingles leading to postherpetic neuralgia were diagnosed with MS within a year after their first outbreak. I have been having similar symptoms to that of MS and I have multiple shingles outbreaks regularly as well as the lingering pain. Just want to see how common it really is. I will be speaking to my doctor about it soon though. Thank you, and I'm so glad there are places like this on the internet where people can talk about the trials of this awful condition!! -RinRin
I was not aware that this was common, but I will say that while looking online at some new symptoms that I have dealt with, ms seemed to share a few of these. This has concerned me quite a bit, so I hope we get a few responses. Welcome to the site, it was nice for me when I discovered this site, I was glad to know there are others.
Not quite what you are looking for in that I have had MS for 15 years but when I developed shingles it developed into PHN. I am eager to check my MRI because I know there were two new cervical lesions and the shingle/PHN track right down the C7 on the left side. Makes sense since the nerve fiber is exposed and weakened.
