... rapist, even if happened when in teens???
Hello mommyson. I am sorry about your past traumatic situation. I can only tell you that during therapy, some people eventually remember their attacker. But, it may take a long time, possible years. This depends on the therapist and his client. Have you seen a therapist? If not, if you are still having problems , then I reccomend that you see someone, especially if it is still causing alot of stress in your life. I hope this helps you some. Take care, Sweetie Pie
I hate to say that you may never forget but will eventually not ruminate on the thoughts. I rarely spend time thinking about it now. I have better things to do now then spend my time allowing that person to take over my thoughts. I don't need to be a victim anymore. It has taken me a lot of years of therapy to be able to truly feel that though. I may always have scars but I don't need them to continue to be open wounds. The choice is mine.
You too can give up the ruminating on these memories. You have to make your mind up that you want to stop though and then work on establishing new thought patterns. Your therapist can help you replace the old tapes with new ones. Does that make sense?
I wish you the very best and your welcome to write me anytime,
