I have ibs and acid reflux. I was in a abusive marriage for 30 yrs. Reson for the ptsd. Now I do not want to be around anyone who causes me to be stressed.I can not stand to see my children stressed and get very unset to see them stressed knowing what has happened to me.
Hello sincerely anonymous. You might try a herbal supplement. They can often help in regards to stress as well as pain. Regards pledge
I'm with you. I was forced to retire kind of rapidly because I just could stand the flair that the stress put me in. I take effexor and that helps, but I still tend to hide out in my apartment, avoid some phone calls, and people. Its a natural reaction to pull away from something that causes pain. You bump your finger on the burner, and you jerk away fast, it burns. You wear hot mitts to prevent the pain, so why not avoid other causes of pain? Your body tries to protect itself. I was in a bad marriage but not as long. I know what that can do to you psychologically. What have you taken and what happens to you when you take it? Maybe I can come up with something that may work for you.
Have you tried meditation? You can learn it very easily by reading, or I'm sure that there a bunches of Youtube's on meditation. People can actually lower blood pressure by meditation alone, and can heal themselves also. If you are truly dedicated, as I have learned, you can work miracles, as our bodies are meant to heal themselves.
Best wishes to you. I also have PTSD.
Have you tried Cymbalta as out helps with depression & pain related to Fibromyalgia ?
And unfortunately stress has a Huge part of Fibromyalgia & how you need to deal with Stress. Exercise helps with stress & also helps Fibromyalgia.
Another way is to try stress relief exercises that you can find online. Also meditation & breathing techniques will also help.
And unfortunately kids have a really hard time trying to understand why are in so much pain & irritable. Unfortunately with Fibromyalgia it is hard for Anyone to understand.. The main reason is because they cannot actually see that is physically wrong with you.. For example a broken leg or something like that. I am not sure how old your kids are but you will need to educate them about this.
But from what you wrote about the abusive relationship.. I think the BEST place you need to do is Get some Professional Therapy. I myself was in a physical emotional abusive relationship. It is so very important that you work through some of the deep stress you still have due to the abuse. I think your kids would also benefit from counseling due to the abuse & also on your medical condition. I know working through my Excess stress with PTSD helped me a ton. Plus my kids went to counseling after I left my ex & the therapist also worked with them on my medical conditions. Up wish you & your kids the best of luck. Kathy
