I have so much trouble with trying ssri's that I am fearful that my wellbutrin has quit. Any advice on which med to try?
From the extensive amount of information I have read about the different classes of antidepressants, Wellbutrin is very well documented to be much weaker than others. So I am not so surprised to hear it is not working as well for you. Personally I cannot take SSRI's (Prozac, Zoloft etc) as they have an amphetamine-like effect on me. I currently take a very very old TCA called Imipramine. It was well-studied in the 1950's and still shows that 80% and sometimes higher, have full remission of depression on it. I very much agree. I have been hospitalized inpatient 7 times for psych, and this is the only antidepressant that has every made me feel normal, with NO side effects whatsoever. And it is very cheap since it is so old. I take 100mg. Good luck.
