Yesterday, my chest started itching a lot. I thought it was a bug bite but when I got home I realized that it was a rash. Scabies is going around in my school, but today I went to the urgent care and they told me that I have shingles. I have been vaccinated and have never had chicken pox. I also do not have any flu-like symptoms of shingles. So my question is, is it possible to have shingles without the flu-like symptoms, blisters or swelling of lymph nodes?
I've had shingles 2x dr verified in2 yes. I never got the flulike symptoms, but I have fibromyalgia so pain is a daily routine. I can say that the last bout I had felt like someone hit me with a baseball and there were the tell tale blisters. My worst outbreak last august or maybe 2015 august had what started as a bumpy red rash, I'd been working in the yard n assumed that it was poison oak, ivy or sumac. By the time the blisters and oh yes the pain hit, the "rash" had spread from just left of my spinal cord and wrapped around the front of my lower abdomen. It's a pain you can not forget, and over year later I still have nerve pain where it was its worse. Oh I had chicken pox as a young child, now 46. I did have swollen lymph nodes on that breakout. The next breakout was months later and very small, I went to minute clinic and told dr what it was-remembered the pain! After much arguing that it was a spider bite she wrote a script for antiviral, cleared right up. Believe it or not oct 26th this year that familiar pain was back with 2 blisters-talked myself out of it being shingles again! Thought I fell asleep on corner of a heating pad that had come partially out of the cover (it was a v shape,so sounded feasible). I knew better, but missed my 72hr antiviral window. Cured them in 2 days with essential oils (these were less than an inch from my eye), and I had no desire for it to spread to my eye n end up in the hospital. Long story short for me anyway, when they 1st start it's a very painful experience that you don't forget. If in ?, see your dr within 72 hrs and get the antiviral. Extreme stress I believe has kept mine coming back, though an appt for blood work again to see if there's another cause. If you miss the 72 hr window, search online for alternative cures, treatments etc, surprisingly some worked awesome though I laughed at the answers not having been a believer of alternative therapies. Hope this helps, I haven't posted online here in forever and got carried away. Let me know if you have any?'s. What to do with the pictures that I used to document, sharing with my dr 1st I guess. Good luck all
