Lupus runs in my family and my ANA came back positive along with a high sed rate. I have Fibromyalgia and im wondering if this can cause your ANA to become positive?? I had several labs done a week ago and the results are yet to come back. I have a great Rheumatologist im just concerned. #confused
Hi nledesma, & welcome to the site. I had a positive ANA for Lupus over 12 years, but my last one in March came back negative for Lupus. Mine ran on the lower end of the scale, & they believe it was due to a liver or common bile duct problem I was having at the time. So sometimes tests can be related to other things too. Fibromyalgia would not cause a positive for any diseases on an ANA panel. I know how scared you must feel as I was told I had lupus for over 12 years, & still have many of the symptoms, but I trust in my rhematologist just like you do, so wait for the other labs to all get done & see what he has to say then. Try not to worry too much or your fibro with start bothering you more. Stress is very bad for fibromyalgia. It just seems to work against it. Please let us know how you come out, & I wish you the best... Mary
