I have had 10 surgeries in the past 30 months, I still have so much pain, I can't sleep and now I am having a hard time eating. When I eat & when I have servere pain I vomit. My primary was told he can no longer prescribe pain medicine and has to send me to a pain doctor, so i have to wait 3wks. to see the dr. that the DEA is dictating me to see! I did not know the government now controls your medicines, so i need to know who in the government I need to call so they can care for me for 3wks? I live in Mass.
What political office due I go to for medical information?

The DEA is now practicing medicine. They think they can say when and what you can have and how much. All you can do is contact your congressman, write to the president and be sure the public knows what is happening to us when we try to treat pain. You can call the DEA, but all you get is platitudes. I asked them what made them think they were qualified to decide how pain is treated, they were practicing medicine without a license, and they told me they weren't as long as the doc follows the rules they are ok. 6 months later my pain dr, who followed all the rules, lost his license for 2 yrs and no can no longer practice pain management.
Yeah my doctor got suspended for 3 months and I was lucky to get taken on by his partner but it's getting really hard just to see him. I may be waiting 3 hours or they cancel my appointment. I wasn't told by the DEA who I could see I just found someone that would work with me. I know it took my dad at least 5 PM docs before he found someone.
I am going to work all day contacting all the elected Officials in my state to register a major concern for all patients not being properly treated due to the DEA. I will let you know when they answer me. Thanks for your support.
Also doesn't help each state have different laws regarding PM. Nj is very tough and we have a lot of ppl going to Delaware. Their laws are more relaxed.
Everyone in every state who has pain needs to be writing and calling the State Reps and Congressmen/women and let them know how these tough policies are affecting people who suffer legit pain. They think if they take medications away from everyone they can solve the drug problems in the country. They couldnt win the fight against illegal drugs so now they are justifying their jobs by going after legit doctors. MUCH easier targets!! Plus all the government officials have all the parents of "little darlings" who died abusing Oxycontin and other prescription drugs. It is the drugs that are the problem, not the kids! They cant face the fact their kids were addicts so they want to blame the drug.
My pcp just put a sign up saying they will not write pain meds for over six meds. Lol good timing
Personnally I'm a little tired of us suffering because parents aren't parenting. That evil drug just jumped up and forced its way into the kids mouth. Just like guns just shot and kill all by themselves.
Thank you for your support, appreciated. What state are you from; I'm from Mass.
