It's even odds but a good bet you will test positive for bupenorphine, especially since they mailed it to a lab. You can test positive for 11 to 24 days after your last dose of subs, and it does accumulate, so you have been taking it for 3 weeks, you may get lucky. They might not check off the box for the bupe panel. Subs is a long acting med, so is methadone, that is why you can test positive for weeks after the last use. Labs catch even a trace of a drug, but not all drs or employers pay for the bupe panel.
Patti is right on. I just called my DR. At 5 mgs per day it is possible after 10 days not to show up. It is also possible they are not part of the panel. We do not know what they are testing for. Lots of times when prescribing pain meds they just test for them to see if the patient is taking and not selling. So they are looking for the opiate presence. I was on Subs but for about a week, 2 mgs per day. When I was tested there was no sign of suboxone ( bupenorphine). And they were looking for it. It was just me and I was on a low dose. I know you want a direct answer and for 8 days have been feeling awful. I feel bad for you. It is the worse. I do not think anyone here knows the answer though. It has not been in your system that long and it is possible, for both the reasons Patti referred to. You ran out of your percs 3 weeks and 8 days before your urine test? That part is a it confusing. No percs for that long? Was he testing to see if they were in your system?
If you are in pain and running out so early, if I read correctly, I might tell the DR. Tell him he is not prescribing enough. Put it back on him, If the bupenorphine does get caught on the screen, tell him you ran out and HAD to take the suboxone to prevent you from being sick. I know i know how lousey you feel. Keep the faith and maybe just maybe the trace they find might not be discernable. I wish you the best luck and hope it works out for you.
