Hello, me and my boyfriend had intercourse last july 28 2012 saturday around 12-1am but the condom broke and I only found out about ecp last july 30 mon. Then I immediately bought nordette july 31 tuesday morning and took 4pills 10am the took another around 9-10pm. I continuously took the other left pills by twos just to make sure it worked. Now Im in my first wk after the intercourse and Im feeling some abdominal cramps and extreme nausea which bothers me terribly. What could this mean? Is this a sign of pregnancy or just the side effects of the pills? I need a medical explanation pls.
Not to get anyone riled up, but the emergency birth control kits that are sold ARE birth control pills, but you have to take so many and at some many hour increments, but they are birth control pills, I assure you. They are packaged in the correct way and they prevent pregnancy if telnet correctly. I am NOT sure if taking a normal pack of birth control pills and attempting to prevent conception will work, but I do know this, for the poster. Even with the correct medication, say Plan B, this is a huge influx of hormones and it will mess your cycle up byt delaying it (more likely) or making it come early. Dear poster, if you have not started your cycle 21 days after you took the first of the Nordette, please take a pregnancy test. It is more likely that messed up your cycle by taking the Nordette in a panic mode, but even with other emergency birth control kits, it would likely have done the same thing. And fear will make you feel all sorts of symptoms. See if you can get yourself calm, go see your obgyn, and see if they can advise you what to do from hear, besides wait for the 21 days, to check for pregnancy. Birth control pills will NOT prevent a pregnancy that has already occured, but you may NOT be pregnant, you likely just have had a surge in hormones with the Nordette and that may mess things up for a while. It would be best to go ahead and get on some form of birth control, once you get this straightened out, so you won't be freaking out every time you have relations, that is a headache you just don't need I will say a prayer for ya.
