You need to get to a dentist asap!!! In the meantime, try Anbesol, it may deaden it somewhat.
Best wishes to you,
Oooohh Janymak! Ugh! How painful! You should really try to see your dentist as an emergency before you go! Call them today and tell them it is an emergency and you are going out of town. It sounds like the tooth is nearly out of the socket so it IS an emergency if you are going to try to save the tooth! There is really not much else you can do-it is a situation for the dentist. They may have to just pull it and then you will at least be comfortable for your trip (if it is a molar at least it wont show much but maybe if you are seen today they can save the tooth)! If you are not seen you are going to be miserable because the nerve is probably exposed and you are right that no pain medicine is going to touch that kind of pain. You might try some Oragel or something with a numbing agent in it but I'm not even sure if that is safe for an exposed root. At least call the dentist! If they cant get you in as an emergency today at least they can advise you what to do in the meantime! You poor girl!! I feel for you! Ouch! It is making me hurt just hearing about it!
You can also use Sensodyne tooth paste. Yes, buy don't brush it on. Use a Q-tip or something like that. My dentist recommeded this to me in case of an emergency. She said that is what it's for & it desenitizes the nerve around the tooth root. Good luck , know how bad that hurts. Oh, & Dollar Tree if you have them where you live sells a generic brand called "Sensitive Extreme" & it's only a dollar.
