I am extremely med sensitive and Chantix is no different. I have been taking my 2, 1 mg pills together, right before bed. I get extremely sick to my stomach-lasts around 45 mins to 2 hrs. I don't dare take my morning dose in the AM but I didn't want to give compromise the daily mg's either so I decided to take both pills at once. Is this effective? As effective? Am I allowing the med to "run out" because of the long time period in between doses? I am on my 4 th wk and I just don't feel different, not as I expected to feel at this stage. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
There is no guarentee that chantix will work.Look it up and im sure you will run into info for people it worked for.It might just not be the right drug for you.I remember a few years back wellbutrin was the wonder drug to quit smoking.Being a smoker myself I know how hard it is to quit and maybe try another method if its making you sick.It takes alot of willpower also you cant expect a drug to make you stop at a drop of a dime.Good Luck and maybe you will get extremly sick at the thought of a smoke.
Hi! Comin down the home stretch... Have about a week left on Chantix. You said any thoughts were welcome so here are my thoughts ;) I missed a nighttime dose once and doubled up in the morning. I was VIOLENTLY ill for hours. And as I recall that was when I was still on the .5 mg. When I take the 1 mg pill on an empty stomach, I will get slight nausea, even now at this stage of the game. But it is tolerable and passes in maybe 15 minutes. Most of the time I don’t get sick at all though. Took about a week when I started the 1 mgs for me to be able to take in morning with a meal and not feel nauseous. My advice is this... if you read this today before you have taken your Chantix, take one tonight and take one tomorrow after you eat breakfast and see what happens. If you are getting sick for 45 minutes at night taking two, then you should get much less sick and for less time taking one. See how sick you get with just the one pill at night if you are really afraid of being sick for work or school or whatever. I really don’t think taking the two at night is any more effective than just taking one. Pills are supposed to be taken a certain way for a reason. Good luck and let me know how it turns out for you.
