I am a trapshooter... I use a 20 ga. shotgun to shoot at clay targets. It has a recoil pad, but, even at that I get some bruising in the right shoulder area when shooting. I started on Plavix and Aspirin after my heart attack in May. I haven't shot my gun since. I have since purchased an additional recoil pad that attaches to my bra strap. Is it wise for me to trapshoot?
My personal opinion is that you should minimize any risk of any sort dealing with a potential relapse... heart attack. You are putting way too much pressure on your chest I have fired many guns myself, and I know the kind of stress a shotgun puts on ones chest.
So I would leave this hobby for a while, and aslo ask your Doctor.
Have a good weekend
