Hello, I am truly sorry that your princess has PAI.
I am not a doctor nor pretend to be one at all... I am just a caring individual
This is all I am able to do for you.
Low Platelet Count in Children
Bone marrow cancers cause low platelet counts in children. Vaccines such a parvovirus and varicella cause a low platelet count as well.
A low platelet count often has no visible effects. However, a platelet count that is severely low, less than 20,000, will cause excessive bleeding under the skin or when a child injures themselves.
To determine if a child has a low platelet count, a physician will have blood drawn to determine if there is a sufficient amount of platelets.
The only way to prevent a low platelet count in children is to identify the causes and prevent them from occurring. Inoculations lower the likelihood of children obtaining some viruses that cause a low platelet count.
Children who suffer from a severe low platelet count are at risk of developing bleeding in either their brain or digestive tract.
I hope I have been of some help to you.
My best wishes to you both and hope everything is solved asap.
