Plaquenil has shown to cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) ... so it's difficult to say that it would have made your sugars go up.
Endocrine side effects have included a case report of hypoglycemia induced by hydroxychloroquine (the active ingredient contained in Plaquenil) in a type II diabetic treated for polyarthritis.

On januvia sugars are down after almost 3 months-waking now in 170 to 230's-will I see lower sugars?
