So my bf and I had sex last night January 19th and the condom didn't break but we think some might have out of the bottom of the condom so just to be sure I took plan b but I just realized I got my period on December 20th and today is January 20th so will plan b still work? My period is never really on time but I'm still scared. We don't even think that any cum got inside me because the condom didn't break but we're still a little worried. Someone please help. I also took the pill 45 minutes ago and haven't had any symptoms and after reading all the reviews of girls who took it and didn't have symptoms of the pill and ended up getting pregnant, I'm extremely worried. Please help.
Plan B only actually does it's job if you are about to ovulate. The rest of the time it does essentially nothing but upset your cycle. The chance of you ovulating a couple of days before your period are extremely small. Having said that there are documented cases where conception has occurred during menstruation (extremely rare). Plan B failure has up to a 10% chance of resulting in an ectopic pregnancy. I would strongly suggest an oral contraceptive; use a condom as a backup protection if you feel inclined.
